About the Job:
Atlific Hotels is looking for a talented and motivated candidate to join its growing finance department. As a Corporate Accountant, you will play an essential role in the production of accurate financial reports for management and ownership. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual with a strong work ethic, exhibiting attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines with ease. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to maintain discretion and professionalism. The position is an on-site role located at our Montreal Office.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily financial operations of multiple hotel properties
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for all hotel properties. Ensure reports are accurate and comply with ASPE
- Provide direct support & trainings to hotels with any finance-related needs including internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Daily treasury management of cash flows, bank balances, expense reports, cheque requests, cheque batches, and payroll cheques
- Reconciling and managing intercompany transactions
- Assistance in the annual budget process and monthly forecasts
- Monitoring hotel reserve fund with budgeted capital expenditure
- Analyze month-end reports, performing variance analysis between budgeted/forecasted figures and actuals.
- Various year-end activities such as write-off memos, payroll, balance sheets, and debt covenants in long term debt financing
- Working with external auditors for audits, reviews, notice to readers & tax returns
- Engage in regular team meetings to review accounting processes
- Regular government filings such as provincial sales and service tax, non-residence, and accommodation levies.
- Reconciliation and calculation of management fees, franchise fees and ownership distributions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position
- CPA designation (considered an asset)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables)
- Knowledge of Full Accounting Cycle
- Excellent proficiency in both English and French
- Possess strong initiative and desire to pursue opportunities as they are identified
- Demonstrated ability to work through challenges above and beyond a standard job description
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly and objectively
- Ability to develop relationships at all levels from corporate colleagues to hotels and external partners
- Highly organized, able to manage time effectively and comfortable working with tight deadlines
- High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with a growing and changing environment
